1. About Bluetoosh

Bluetoosh is a peer-to-peer offline messaging application. It uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Google Nearby Connections, and local Wi-Fi to let users communicate with people in their immediate vicinity — without any internet connection or centralized server.

2. Information We Collect

Bluetoosh collects no personal information on our behalf. The only data that exists within the app is:

• Display name (callsign) — chosen freely by you during setup. Never sent to any server.
• Messages, media, and voice notes — stored locally on your device only, transmitted directly to nearby devices you contact.
• Device identifier — a locally generated random ID used to distinguish you from other nearby Bluetoosh users. Not linked to any account or personal identity.

3. How Your Data Is Used

Data within Bluetoosh is used solely to:

• Deliver messages, files, and calls to other nearby Bluetoosh users you have chosen to contact.
• Display your chosen name to nearby users so they can identify you.
• Enable peer-to-peer games with nearby players.

We do not analyze, profile, monetize, or process your data in any way.

4. Data Transmission

All data transmission happens directly between devices using one or more of:

• Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
• Google Nearby Connections API
• Local area network (LAN) over Wi-Fi via TCP/UDP

No data is routed through any server operated by us or any third party. Transmissions are limited to the physical vicinity of the devices involved.

5. Third-Party Services

Bluetoosh uses the following third-party SDKs which may have their own privacy policies:

• Google Nearby Connections API — used for local device discovery and messaging. See Google Privacy Policy.
• Flutter & Dart (Google) — the app framework. No data is collected through the framework itself.

We do not integrate any advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or tracking libraries.

6. Permissions Required

Bluetoosh requests the following Android permissions and uses them only as described:

• Bluetooth / Bluetooth Scan / Bluetooth Connect — to discover and communicate with nearby devices.
• Access Fine Location — required by Android for BLE scanning. Location data is never recorded or stored.
• Nearby Wi-Fi Devices — for Nearby Connections on Android 12+.
• Record Audio — for voice calls and voice note recording. Audio is not saved unless you explicitly send a voice note.
• Read / Write External Storage — to send and receive files and media.
• Post Notifications — to show incoming message and call notifications.

7. Data Storage & Security

All messages, contacts, and media are stored locally in an encrypted database on your device. Sensitive settings (such as your device ID) are stored in Android's Secure Storage (Keystore-backed).

We do not have access to your stored data and cannot recover it on your behalf.

8. Deleting Your Data

You can permanently delete all app data at any time from Settings → Delete All Data inside the app. This removes all messages, contacts, media, and your device identity from the app's storage. This action cannot be undone.

You may also uninstall the app, which removes all locally stored data.

9. Children's Privacy

Bluetoosh is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Because no data is collected by us at all, there is no risk of inadvertent collection from minors.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
